Corrosion-erosion performances of Ti-6.5Al-2Zr-1Mo-1V (TA15) alloy fabricated by two laser additive manufacturing technologies, namely selective laser melting (SLM) and laser metal deposition (LMD) were investigated, and compared with those of traditional forged counterpart. Results show that SLM-ed TA15 possesses better corrosion, wear, and tribocorrosion resistances than LMD-ed and forged TA15. This is mainly attributed to the ultrafine-grain αʹ phase in the microstructure of SLM-ed sample, which improves the hardness and thereby enhances the wear and tribocorrosion resistance. Additionally, the complete αʹ phase formed in SLM-ed sample also avoids the galvanic corrosion that occurs at the α+β-type LMD-ed and forged samples.
