Highlights The feasibility of developing NiTi-X alloys by laser powder bed fusion is exemplified. Solution treatment was used to enhance the mechanical and functional properties. Ternary NiTiNb alloys show good tensile properties and wide hysteresis. The relationship between microstructure and performance was established.
