The first realization of an active gyrator in the microwave frequency range is presented. A selective monolithic filter at 0.9 GHz using a resonant circuit with two 0.5 pF capacitors and a gyrator of the transconductance amplifier type has been built on a single GaAs chip. An equivalent Q factor as high as 200 has been obtained.
