The global community has come to recognize that the primary solution for addressing the pressing issue of pollution and consequent climate crisis lies in diminishing reliance on fossil fuels as a primary means of energy production. India, in particular, has been diligently working to decrease its dependence on traditional energy sources, all with the ultimate goal of contributing to a more improved world. A noteworthy initiative in this endeavor has been undertaken by the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA), aimed at reshaping the energy landscape within the power-deficient state of Bihar. Notably, BREDA has successfully implemented a 130 KW grid-connected solar power facility at Bihar Agriculture University (BAU), Sabour. The detailed layout, procedural aspects, and economic considerations of this solar power plant have been thoroughly discussed and meticulously assessed. Anticipated outcomes of this venture include an annual energy generation of approximately 43,87,500 kWh, and based on estimations, the plant is projected to recoup the initial investment outlay within a span of five years. The generation of eco-friendly energy is poised to facilitate further expansion of the university’s infrastructure. Consequently, the objective of this paper is to accentuate the merits associated with the solar power installation at the university campus. This is accomplished through the presentation and analysis of a diverse range of data, encompassing benefits such as reductions in annual electricity expenditures and diminished CO2 emissions.
