Abstract This paper describes a new method of water measurement called the Salt Velocity Method. The authors outline the theory and development of the method, describe the apparatus and methods of computation used in laboratory and field tests, give an account of several commercial tests, and present for discussion the claims of the method for a high degree of accuracy and reliability.
