Cycloaddition of CO₂ to epoxides “around water”: a strategy to apply and recycle efficient water-soluble bio-based organocatalysts in biphasic media

Abstract

A biphasic reaction approach is presented for the cycloaddition of CO 2 to epoxides where the catalyst is dissolved in water droplets and the reaction occurs at the aqueous–organic interface allowing easy recycling of the catalyst by decantation.
