This work proposed a novel supramolecular-gel-pyrolysis method to design a non-noble 3D porous CeO 2 /SACe-N–C composite that functioned as an efficient catalyst with dense Ce-N 4 O 4 |CeO 2 coupling sites for the ORR in a zinc–air battery.
