Successive generations of novel glycopeptide dendrons (see picture) were obtained from an orthogonally protected AB2-type building block by an iterative reaction sequence of deprotection and peptide coupling. The carbohydrate-containing dendrons so prepared may be considered as glycocalyx mimetics.
