Abstract

Enzyme histochemical study of clear cell change in a new morphologic variant of multiple syringomas demonstrates that the clear cells in these tumors are relatively enzyme deficient. The presence of abundant glucogen with reduced phosphorylase activity suggest that this change is probably a secondary phosphorylase deficiency glycogenosis rather than glycogenosis as an expression of increased cellular growth.
