In patients with hidradenitis suppurativa, previous surgery was associated with worse outcomes in anxiety, depression, and quality of life, showing the apparent need of psychological support. It remains unclear whether the morbidity of surgical procedures or a possible higher severity score in patients undergoing surgery is responsible.
