Abstract

Aiming at the adverse effects of fiber dispersion over long-distance frequency dissemination, a dispersion correction scheme based on chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) is proposed. The dispersion correction effect is studied and a frequency dissemination experiment is carried out on a 310 km urban fiber link from Tsinghua University to Zhangjiakou city with 2.2×10 -14 /s and 2.6×10 -17 /10 5 s stabilities achieved. Through implementing distributed dispersion correction and asymmetrical optical amplification at each optical amplification node in the fiber link, the dissemination distance is extended to 500 km by connecting 50 km-100 km-150 km-100 km-100 km fiber spools. The great challenge caused by the section of 150 km fiber spool has been overcome and frequency dissemination stabilities of 1.7×10 -14 /s and 6.7×10 -18 /10 5 s are obtained, which reveals the potential and applicability of the dispersion correction based frequency dissemination system.
