Abstract Isolated stem- and leaf-callus tissues of Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck and C. sinensis , (L.) Osbeck, established in continuous culture, produced maximum number of shoot-buds in a treatment containing 0.25 mg/liter 6 benzylamino purine (BA) + 0.1 mg/liter naphthalineacetic acid (NAA). Callus-regenerated excised shoots produced shoot-buds from their cut ends in this treatment and roots in a treatment containing 0.1 or 0.5 mg/liter NAA. Numerous such rooted shoots developed into vigorous plants in potted soil.
