Abstract

BACKGROUND: Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) ZNFX1-AS1 (ZFAS1) is a newly discovered lncRNA, but its diagnostic value in gastric cancer is unclear. AIM: To investigate the potential role of ZFAS1 in gastric cancer and to evaluate the clinical significance of ZFAS1 as a biomarker for gastric cancer screening. METHODS: tumor formation assays. RESULTS: . LIN28 and CAPRIN1 were identified as key downstream mediators of ZFAS1 in gastric cancer cells. CONCLUSION: LncRNA ZFAS1 promoted the invasion and proliferation of gastric cancer cells by modulating LIN28 and CAPRIN1 expression, suggesting that ZFAS1 can be used as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in gastric cancer.
