PtRh nanowires with sub-monolayer of Rh atoms on the surface (PtRh 0.02 @Rh NWs) are fabricated and facilitate both hydrogen evolution reaction and ethylene glycol evolution reaction owing to the tensile strain and large electrocatalytic active surface area.
