Tuning the Decomposition Temperature in Complex Hydrides: Synthesis of a Mixed Alkali Metal Borohydride

Abstract

Metallmixtur: Die Synthese des ersten gemischten Alkalimetallborhydrids wird vorgestellt: Die Kristallstruktur von LiK(BH4)2 (siehe Bild; K pink, Li gelb, B grün, H grau) ähnelt derjenigen von LiBH4, und der thermische Zersetzungspunkt liegt zwischen den Werten für LiBH4 und KBH4. Mithilfe der beschriebenen Route lassen sich die thermodynamischen Parameter der Wasserstoffdesorption aus komplexen Hydriden genau einstellen.
