One major problem in measuring the double‐layer capacity of a porous electrode is the effect of distributed reactions. Ohmic resistance of the electrolyte makes it easier to charge or discharge the outer surface of the electrode, while the interior lags behind. Triangular voltage sweep results obtained with porous silver in 31 weight per cent agreed well with predicted values obtained using a mathematical model which considers the physical properties of the electrode and electrolyte.
