Verschlossene Röhren: Das Anbinden selbstkomplementärer Duplex-DNA an die Öffnungen mesoporöser Siliciumoxidnanopartikel erzeugt einen Deckel zum Fixieren von Gastmolekülen. Diese Fracht kann entweder durch thermische Stimulation oder durch Einwirkung von DNase I freigesetzt werden, die beide den DNA-Deckel entfernen (siehe Bild).
