Cross section data have been compiled for electron collisions with carbon dioxide (CO2) molecules, based on 75 references. Collision processes considered are: total scattering, elastic scattering, momentum transfer, excitations of vibrational and electronic states, ionization, electron attachment, and emission of radiation. Molecular properties of CO2 are summarized as far as they are helpful in understanding those collisional processes. With an evaluation of the compiled data, recommended values of the cross section are presented in a tabular form. The literature was surveyed through early 2001, but more recent data available to the author are also considered.
