Drug-induced hepatitis developed five weeks after diphenylhydantoin sodium (Dilantin) administration. The clinical, hematologic, biochemical, and histologic features were consistent with mixed hepatocellular type of hepatic injury due to drug hypersensitivity. Clinical abnormalities and hematologic changes were reproduced by readministration of the drug, but no hepatic abnormalities recurred.
