Synthesis of 2-amino-3-ethoqtenzenethiol and 5-ethoxy---4H-1.4-benzothiazines is reported for the first time.Synthesis of 48-1.4-benzothiazinesinvolves the condensation and oxidative cyclisation of 2-dm-3-ethoxybenzenethiol with (j -diketones i n MSO.Benzothiazine derivatives find a rmmber of medicinal and industrial applications 3
