Schon 0.2–1 Mol-% der doppelt axial-chiralen Phosphorsäurekatalysatoren (z. B. 1) mit Bisbinol-Gerüst genügten für asymmetrische Transferhydrierungen. 2-Aryl- und 2-Alkylchinoline ergaben die Tetrahydrochinoline in ausgezeichneten Ausbeuten und mit bis zu 98 % ee. 2,3-Disubstituierte Tetrahydrochinoline wurden hoch diastereo- und enantioselektiv erhalten (>20:1 und bis 92 % ee).
