Relocating cartography

Abstract

This essay reviews Kapil Raj's recently published Relocating Modern Science. I focus on Raj's chapters relating to mapping and surveying in order to situate them more generally in the field of the history of cartography. Thus, the essay is also intended as a somewhat introductory 'taking stock' of the field of the history of cartography at the moment.
