Porentief erforscht: Die durch Dampfbehandlung eingeführten Mesoporen in einzelnen ZSM-5-Kristallen wurden mit einer Kombination aus fokussierten Ionenstrahlen (FIB) und Rasterelektronenmikroskopie (SEM) tomographiert (siehe Bild). Dabei wurden quantitative Einblicke in die Breite, Länge, Morphologie und Verteilung der Mesoporen erhalten.
