Abstract

Ein sehr guter Wirt: Seine kapselförmige Struktur empfiehlt kristallines para-Octanoylcalix[4]aren (siehe Bild) als Adsorbens für gesättigte und ungesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffe, polarisierbare inerte Gase und Kohlendioxid. Die beständige Bewegung der Acylketten führt dazu, dass die Wände der Calixarenkapsel „weich“ sind, und ermöglicht die Gasadsorption sogar ohne permanente Kanäle.
