Abstract

The authors present the results of a sensitivity analysis relating the corona and field effects to the variation of the physical parameters of hybrid corridors, with the primary focus on the separation of the two line types. A method for calculating human sensation levels as a function of AC/DC line separation is shown. Graphs are presented which describe surface gradients and audible and radio noise as a function of AC/DC separation. In addition, the concept of AC/DC interaction is discussed and a criterion for the definition of significant interaction is suggested. No interactive effects were found between the HVAC and HVDC lines that needed to be accounted for in calculating the ground level AC and DC electric fields and ion current density in a hybrid corridor.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
