Einzelhaft: Die beschriebene Methode ermöglicht eine Hochdurchsatzsynthese von DNA mit anschließender Multiplex-Emulsions-PCR für den Nachweis und die Sequenzierung der Zielgene. Durch den Einsatz von primerfunktionalisierten Kügelchen als Amplikonsubstrate blieben die Zellen durchgängig getrennt. Ein Sortieren der Tropfen war nicht notwendig.
