Eins nach dem anderen: Inkompatible Reagentien, wie Wasser und LiAlH4, Grignard- oder Cupratreagentien, können auf den beiden Seiten einer Polydimethylsiloxan(PDMS)-Membran an einer Reaktionskaskade teilnehmen (siehe Schema; SDS = Natriumdocecylsulfat), da die polaren Wassermoleküle nicht durch die hydrophobe Membran diffundieren können.
