Lern Deine αβγ's: Die kristallographische Charakterisierung mehrerer oligomerer Peptide enthüllte die Vielfalt an Wasserstoffbrückenmustern in rückgraterweiterten hybriden Helices (siehe Schema; C grau, H weiß, O rot, N blau). C12-Helices traten in der Reihe der αγ-Peptide für n=2–8 auf. Dagegen fanden sich in αα- und αβ-Peptidsequenzen C10- bzw. eine Mischung aus C14- und C15-Helices.
