Abstract

In this third edition, Dr Green and the other authors have added information necessary to strengthen the position of this work as "the standard" on operative surgery of the hand. The roster of authors includes many of the most respected hand surgeons in the United States and other countries. While their writing styles vary, they have successfully adapted to the format established by Dr Green. Although the emphasis is on operative techniques, each section includes much more relating to historical reviews, definitions, descriptions of pathology, detailed attention to anatomy, clinical presentations including methods of diagnosis, warnings about complications, appropriate rehabilitation techniques, discussions of alternate types of therapy, and the treatment of choice according to the opinion of the author.
