The authors report a family whose pedigree gives the impression of a dominant (autosomal or gonosomal?) myopia with acuity loss. In one kindred there is a striking difference between males and females. Evaluation of function of the males reveals a cone dystrophy while in the females both the ERG and color vision are normal. An X-linked inheritance is suspected but cannot be proven.
