NovelistWilliam Faulkner(1897–1962) grew up in Oxford, Mississippi. He published The Sound and the Fury in 1929. His other works include As I Lay Dying, Light in August, Intruder in the Dust, and The Reivers. Twice awarded the Pulitzer Prize, he received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1950.
