The spectra of two-electron configurations in ($\mathrm{jj}$) and ($\mathrm{jl}$) coupling and of the configurations ${d}^{n}$, ${f}^{3}$, ${d}^{2}p$, and ${d}^{8}p$ in ($\mathrm{LS}$) coupling are calculated with tensor operators. The agreement with the odd terms of Ti II and Ni II is satisfactory. It is also proved that $\frac{{G}^{k}}{(2k+1)}$ is a positive decreasing function of $k$.
