Abstract

Cardiorespiratory ArrestIN THE multitude of clinical and experimental material reported in the last two decades, cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest are usually regarded as two distinct entities. It is true that certain events result in cardiac arrest, whereas other circumstances lead to cessation of respiration; however, because these two are so closely related in pathological physiology and in therapy, thinking on the problems engendered must, in every instance, include both.
