Abstract

\n \nA model study of the characteristic signatures of \ncarrier-correlation effects on the \nexcitonic differential absorption spectra in semiconductors is presented. \nUsing an effectively one-dimensional tight-binding system \nCoulomb-induced carrier-correlations up to third-order in the optical field\nare treated without additional approximations.\nTo illustrate the influence\nof the different many-body contributions excitonic differential absorption spectra\nare computed for various polarizations and pump-probe time delays. \nThe simultaneous influence of \nenergetic disorder and correlations \non the differential absorption spectra is discussed.\nAlso presented are numerical results for the case when the \nsemiconductor system is placed inside\na microcavity in the strong-coupling regime.\nIt is shown that the correlations\ninduce characteristic signatures in the normal mode spectra.\n\n\n
