Abstract

Eine Tasche voller Kupfer: Redoxpotentiometrie- und EPR-Experimente belegen, dass das aktive Zentrum der partikulären Methan-Monooxygenase (pMMO), eines membrangebundenen Enzyms, das unter Umgebungsbedingungen Methan zu Methanol hydroxyliert, zusätzlich zu dem zweikernigen Kupfercluster, der früher röntgenographisch nachgewiesen wurde, aus einem dreikernigen Kupfercluster (siehe Bild) und einem Typ-2-Kupferzentrum besteht.
