CO Oxidation Catalyzed by Supported Gold: Cooperation between Gold and Nanocrystalline Rare‐Earth Supports Forms Reactive Surface Superoxide and Peroxide Species

Abstract

Nützliche Defekte: Reaktive η1-Superoxid- und Peroxidspezies bilden sich an Einelektronendefektstellen der Grenzfläche zwischen Goldnanoclustern und nanokristallinem CeO2−x. Diese Intermediate oxidieren auf Gold adsorbiertes CO zu CO2. Die reaktiven Sauerstoffspezies entstehen auf nanokristallinem CeO2−x (siehe Bild), nicht jedoch auf normalem CeO2, und ihre Bildung wird durch das Gold verstärkt.
