Einzigartige Route: Die radikalische Additionspolymerisation von MesPCPh2 verläuft über die C-H-Aktivierung einer ortho-CH3-Gruppe des Mes-Restes (siehe Schema; Mes=2,4,6-Trimethylphenyl, tht=Tetrahydrothiophen, TEMPO=2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-l-piperidinoxyl). Dieser einzigartige Mechanismus der Isomerisierungspolymerisation steht im Kontrast zur früher vorgeschlagenen, für Olefine typischen Kopf-Schwanz-Verkettung.
