Das Zusammenspiel von zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Aggregationsprozessen führt zum Symmetriebruch in einem achiralen selbstorganisierenden System. Fluorierte Benzol-1,3,5-tricarboxamid-Moleküle bilden zunächst eine racemische Mischung aus P- und M-helikalen Aggregaten, die sich zu optisch aktiven Aggregaten höherer Ordnung oder Fasern bündeln (siehe Bild).
