Li 6.4 Ga 0.2 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 can be reduced by Li, which results in Ga leaching out of the garnet structure to form the Li–Ga alloy. The penetrated alloy can short-circuit the battery when Ga-substituted LLZO is used as a solid electrolyte.
