The incidence of oophorectomy in this audit is comparable to reported incidences in current literature. However, with increasing evidence to support ongoing ovarian function even in cases where ischaemia is histologically confirmed, this incidence could be lowered. Age was the only variable that was found to have a significant effect on the incidence of oophorectomy.
