Immunoglobulin attenuated LPS-activated macrophages, partly, through the reduced cell energy of macrophages and might play a role in sepsis immune hyper-responsiveness. Despite the debate over IVIG's use in sepsis, IVIG might be beneficial in sepsis with certain conditions.
