F-cement is a binder for concrete based on slag activated with an alkaline admixture. The activation method is not new, but only seldom used in practice. F-concrete has given very satisfactory results in tests performed during three years. F-concrete mix is highly workable, even if its water-cement ratio is low. Strength development properties are suitable for production with curing at elevated temperatures. One of the most useful properties is its good sulphate resistance. In the use of F-cement low heat of hydration, accurate control of workability and curing temperature require special attention. (Author)
