Abstract

The Rokko range runs just behind the Port City of Kobe bordering the western side of "Kinki Triangle", which is proposed by H_UZITA (1962) as one of the neotectonic provinces in Southwest Japan. The Kinki Triangle area is characterized by many elliptic basins, such as Osaka (including Osaka Bay), Nara and Oomi (including Lake Biwa), embraced by short and narrow mountain ranges such as Suzuka, Hira and Ikoma etc....
