This study is concerned with similarities in values and other personality traits in two generations of adults within the family—i.e., college students and their parents. Between which members of the family is similarity the greatest: mother-father, mother-son, mother-daughter, father-son, or father daughter? What characteristics of family structure and family emotional climate contribute to the resemblances?
