The International Conference on `Mineral Processing: Recent Advances and Future Trends` was organized to honour Professor P.C. Kapur of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, on the occasion of his 60th birthday for his many outstanding contributions to research and teaching in Mineral Engineering. The five day conference consisted of seventeen plenary lectures from eminent mineral engineers/scientists and managers, fifty nine oral and nineteen poster presentations covering eight broad areas. These included: Surface Chemistry and Interfacial Phenomena; Comminution and Agglomeration; Physical Separation Processes; Bio- and Hydrometallurgy; Coal Processing; Mathematical Modelling and Simulation; Environmental Impact and Waste Processing; and Allied Topics. 17 papers have been abstracted separately on the IEA Coal Research CD-ROM.
