The plate buckling of woven fabrics is analyzed in terms of the known non-linear bending behavior of such fabrics. A simplified form of this non-linearity is found to explain the behavior of the fabric. It is shown that it is possible to deduce both the linear bending resistance of the fabric and the initial frictional couple from the buckling behavior of such fabrics.
