Abstract

SUMMARY Diagnosis of pulmonary mucormycosis in a 9-week-old male chicken, presented for slaughter in good condition, was based on histologic demonstration of the characteristic fungus organism in caseous granulomas. The organism causing these caseous lesions was differentiated from the causative agent of aspergillosis, which is the most common mycotic lung disease in chickens.
