Methodology is the cornerstone of all scientific research. It goes without saying that the research method will always be determined by the extent and form of the available data. This paper presents an overview of the existing methods used for spatial phenomena analysis in relation to the existing and available data, and discusses a newly developed solution for crime data analysis in the Polish setting.
