Abstract

<p>An efficient and convenient method has been developed for the synthesis of 2-<br> amino-5-oxo-4-phenyl-4, 5-dihydropyrano[3,2-c]chromene-3-carbonitrile<br> derivatives from a one-pot multi-component reaction between 4-hydroxy-2H-<br> chromen-2-one. Aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile were catalyzed by<br> DTP/SiO2 as an efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst. The current<br> method provides advantages over reported method viz simple operational<br> procedure, easy isolation and recyclability of the catalyst, environmental benign,<br> reduced reaction time and superior yield.</p>
