Beginning with Wright's report in 1945,1 the specific value of anticoagulants in the management of acute myocardial infarction has been adequately demonstrated by many investigators. The advisability of instituting anticoagulant therapy in every case of cardiac infarction has been challenged recently.2-5Inconvenience, expense, and certain known hazards inherent in anticoagulant therapy were stated to outweigh any benefits that might accrue from its use in the so-called "good risk" cases. One report6goes even further, by concluding...Bibliography1. Wright IS: Experiences with Dicumarol in the treatment of coronary thrombosis, Proc. Am. Federation Clin. Research 2: 28, 1945.
